The Mastermind: Devon E. Levins (Guitar) -
is the founding member and guitarist of New York City's Morricone Youth (and NYC's Pretendo and San Diego's Creedle). Raised in the Las Vegas hardcore scene, logging over a decade's worth of education at the Casbah in San Diego, the avid record collector formed Morricone Youth in 1999 with the sole mission of pulling off masterfully-executed heists around the world while simultaneously performing only music written for the moving image. No doubt this is the result of an unhealthy Nevada upbringing of watching Bernard Herrmann, Ennio Morricone, Nino Rota, Lalo Schifrin, Akira Ifukube and John Barry-scored afternoon films and midnight movies curated by local television personality Gus Giuffre, and sneaking into double and triple features at the North Las Vegas Drive-In, The Huntridge, The Red Rock, The Cinedome and, most importantly, Cinema 1-2-3 on Fremont Street. E. Levins has curated and hosted a weekly internet radio show for over 5 years under the same Morricone Youth nom de guerre on East Village Radio with the similar mission of playing only music for the moving image while pulling off some of the biggest bank robberies in recent history. He one day hopes to "mastermind" his own self-written, directed, produced, acted and scored Science Fiction Spaghetti Western Yakuza epic trilogy.
