Morricone Youth

Dan "Bone" Lehner (Trombone) -
Dan "Bone" Lehner grew up without a driver's license in Hamilton, New Jersey, just down the way from Miss America 1984 Suzette Charles.  Lehner, an anarchist and anthropology enthusiast of hunter/gatherer tribes, had a third uncle well known for offering unsecured loans at ridiculously exorbitant rates out of the back office of his "Il Ristorante" down by the shore.  Working as a back waiter there one summer, reality set in.  Unsure what path to take in life, Lehner locked himself in his bedroom and watched in successive order Across 110th Street, Cleopatra Jones, Willie Dynamite and every episode of Starsky & Hutch, Mike Hammer and the Six Million Dollar Man. It then dawned on him that he needed to follow that of the late great J.J. Johnson enrolling in a Jazz Performance program at William Paterson despite his preference for Jimmy Knepper.  But the dark, steamy underworld of predatory lending reared its ugly head upon graduation upon time to pay back his student loans.  Lehner now divides his time between performing with Avenida B, Asiko, Nick Cooper and the Shannon Baker/Erica Seguine Jazz Orchestra, freelance writing for music publications such as All About Jazz, and making others good on old debts. Bada-bing!
